The Amazing Wii Work-out!!
If you want an amazing cardiovascular workout, combined with toning and strengthening of the upper body, you should just go on 'head and buy yourself a Wii. Me and a friend were "boxing," and after three rounds I felt like I had just sprinted a few times around the block. My body ached a good ache; one of those aches you're supposed to have after doing a few dozen reps on the weight machines.
Now, my dad is a technobuff......and has the Wii in his self-declared "Man Room." I can't even figure out how to turn the darn thing on. But if I beg my little brother hard enough, he'll show me how, and I'll be able to declare the Nintendo Wii my official early morning workout. I also bowl on the Wii, which gives me a bit of a work-out as well, and let's not even get started on the baseball game. All the twisting and turning trying to hit the baseball will do wonders for the obliques.
As for eating, I am slowly but surely picking back up where I left off. Am I still nervous about this Saturday's weigh-in. Undoubtedly. But, that's what I get for eating like a piglet. It sounds harsh (or maybe not), but sometimes you have to accept responsibility for what you have done - including moments of self-sabotage.
I've had too many excuses in the past. "My mom should stop buying this crap," or "I had a bad day. I deserve it!" No, I deserve instead to be healthy. I deserve to live a long life, not an "at risk" life. We live and we learn, and though it's hard, in the end, I'll have a healthier body, and that's all that matters.
I am a Christian, so allow me to say a quick prayer....
God, give me the strength to make wise decisions regarding my health!! If you see me about to walk through the candy aisle (lol), or through the door of McDonald's, speak all the more loud, all the more clear. In the end, I have to make the decision to accept your guidance, so always bring back to my remembrance what the goal is: a healthy me. A lifestyle and a body that you intended for me to have! Thank you, God, that I can come to you this way. In Jesus name I pray,
AMEN!
